Looking at the 494 agencies acquired between 2016 and 2021, 56% (278) agencies acquired by the largest International Holding Cos. vs. 24% (118) by the seven Management Consultancies, 9% (46) by the Digital Media Investment firms, and 11% (52) by others. The total breaks down by segment as follows: 66% in data/digital, 24% creative and 6% media (five percent are others).
During 2021, COMvergence recorded 86 acquisitions of which five were part of the top largest deals since 2016. This is a strong rebound following the COVID-19 pandemic.
