February 21, 2022 – MediaPost (USA) — Marketing and communications agency acquisitions were up sharply in 2021 after declining for several years but still below the level reached five years ago, according to a new study from COMvergence.
The agency research firm said deals totalled 86 last year representing acquired revenues of more than $2.5 billion. By comparison, for 2020 the firm reported 47 M&A deals in the marcom space, representing estimated revenues of $826 million. In 2016 there were 120 transactions.
